Mercy Cedar Rapids hospital (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) and Senior Housing Partners (Roseville, Minn.), the development arm of Presbyterian Homes & Service (Roseville, Minn.), are planning a new community in Cedar Rapids, according to an article in The Gazette.
Situated on 42 acres, the new 237-unit HallMar Village will replace the existing Mercy Hallmar skilled nursing community, which opened in 1960. The new community will include long-term care and independent living, as well as the Innovation Center for Aging and Dementia, which will provide services to support people living with dementia, care partners, and families.
Amenities will include a town center with a chapel, community room, conservatory, restaurant-style dining and a casual bistro, wellness center, salon/spa, and theater. Outdoor amenities will include patios, gardening space, and walking trails.
The project is slated to begin in spring 2021 and completion is expected in fall 2022.
