Nestled just west of Austin, Texas, Longleaf Bee Cave is a new assisted living and memory care community that combines the rustic warmth of Texas Hill Country with a fresh sophisticated vibe of the Austin area. The three-story community in Bee Cave, Texas, which derived its name from the colonies of Mexican honeybees in the area, houses 61 assisted living units and 27 memory care units.

In spring 2020, the community’s design by architecture firm Studio Architects (Atlanta) and interior designer Faulkner Design Group (Dallas) was complete, and construction was slated to begin as the pandemic struck. While construction was able to continue, the design was re-evaluated for operating safely during and after the pandemic.

As a result, Longleaf Bee Cave features the latest safeguards in design and engineering, including sanitizing UV lighting, ionic air filtration, and antimicrobial surfaces to prevent viral spread while withstanding frequent cleaning. These elements are seamlessly integrated into the overall design to create a serene environment that draws on the natural beauty of the area.

Opened in February 2022, Longleaf Bee Cave provides a relaxed, walkable environment with access to a nearby retail district with boutique shops, restaurants, and salons. The community sits directly adjacent the City’s largest opens space park which includes an amphitheater.

Inside the community is a bright and airy lobby area. A neutral color palette washes the spaces with serenity, allowing rich accent hues of blue, green, and gold to bring a feeling of refined sophistication. A few design elements are even honeycomb-shaped, creatively alluding to the city’s name.

Amenity spaces include a media center/theater, game room, café, library with computer workstations, salon, fitness center, creative arts studio, and outdoor patios with scenic vistas of the impressive Texas Hill Country topography. The residential units also feature peaceful panoramic views that promote wellness within the community.
