Arbor Terrace Exton

Located in Exton, Pa., Arbor Terrace Exton is rooted in the historic architecture of Chester County, an area known for its farmhouses and horse breeding.

Developed by Capitol Seniors Housing (Washington, D.C.) and operated by the Arbor Company (Atlanta), the community houses assisted living and memory care residences.

Its design by Meyer Senior Living Studio (Ardmore, Pa.) was influenced by the architectural evolution of a farmhouse, with massing that represents additions being added over time. Iconic Pennsylvania farmhouse elements such as stone, shutters, and open porches serve as reminders of the area’s architectural history dating back to pre-colonial and colonial time periods. These elements can be seen reflected in the architecture of both the exterior and in the interior design.

Arbor Terrace Exton’s interior, specifically, creates a warm and inviting atmosphere with the use of built-in niches, reclaimed wood mantels, ceiling beams, and fireplaces. A calming and contemporary color palette paired with details such as cased archways and a prominent barrel-vaulted lobby ceiling creates a timeless aesthetic.

The 78,000-square-foot community also provides personal care and memory care to seniors living within bridge neighborhoods that ease the transition from assisted living to more comprehensive memory care.
