Environments for Aging announces the winning projects in the 29th annual EFA Design Showcase, which celebrates the best design and architecture in senior living environments.
A jury of industry experts, including architects, interior designers, owners/operators, and consultants, assessed this year’s submissions, with one project garnering the top Award of Merit honor, four receiving Honorable Mentions, and seven projects named as finalists.
The 2025 Showcase winners include:
Award of Merit:
- LiveWell River Homes (Plantsville, Conn.), submitted by RLPS Architects (Lancaster, Pa.)
Honorable Mention:
- Broadview at Purchase College (Purchase, N.Y.), submitted by Hord Coplan Macht and MDP / Merlino Design Partnership
- Brookridge Retirement Community (Winston-Salem, N.C.), submitted by CJMW Architecture + Interior Design (Winston-Salem, N.C.)
- Livelle Mulholland (Woodland Hills, Calif.), submitted by Perkins Eastman
- The Springs at The Waterfront (Vancouver, Wash.), submitted by GBD Architects Incorporated (Portland, Ore.)
Finalists:
- Brightview Hunt Valley (Cockeysville, Md.), submitted by Harkins Builders Inc. (Columbia, Md.)
- The Carnegie at Washingtonian Center (Gaithersburg, Md.), submitted by THW Design (Atlanta, Ga.)
- Enso Village – A Kendal Affiliate (Healdsburg, Calif.), submitted by HKIT Architects (Oakland, Calif.) and Mithun (Seattle)
- Good Samaritan (Roanoke, Va), submitted by SFCS (Roanoke, Va.)
- Maple Manor at Maple Knoll Village, a BHI Senior Living Community (Cincinnati), submitted by JMM Architects Inc. (Columbus, Ohio)
- The Mather (Tysons, Va.), submitted by Mather (Evanston, Ill.)
- Plymouth Place Senior Living (La Grange Park, Ill.), submitted by AG Architecture (Wauwatosa, Wis.) and Spellman Brady & Company (St. Louis)
The winners will be recognized at the 2025 EFA Conference + Expo in Lexington, Ky., which will be held at the Central Bank Center April 26-29, and in the Spring 2025 issue of Environments for Aging.
