The Virginian, an independent living, assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing community, in Fairfax, Va., is beginning an extensive renovation project to the seven-story, 367,000-square-foot building.

The project will be completed in phases through June 2022 and will add four wings featuring 155 independent living units, 56 assisted living units, and 38 memory care units to the 32-wooded-acre community.

Amenities will include multiple dining venues, a wine cellar, sports bar, indoor golf simulator, theater, entertainment venues, salon, technology areas, spa, and swimming pool. Outdoor amenities will include space for pickleball, bocce ball, a putting green, dog park, and fire pit.

The project team includes Moseley Architects (architect; Richmond, Va.), Meyer Design (interior designer; Ardmore, Pa.), and Allied Partners (construction manager; Bend, Ore.).
