Affordable housing developer Celadon Partners (Chicago) has started construction on Deerfield Supportive Living, an affordable senior living community in Deerfield, Ill., according to a news release from Skender (Northbrook, Ill.), the general contractor on the project.
The 4-story, 105,000-square-foot community will house 147 units, dining rooms, event and activity spaces, a library, salon, and general store.
The centerpiece of the building’s common area will be a large living room and dining space with an open, double-sided fireplace lounge.
The project is pursuing Enterprise Green Communities Building certification with sustainable features including eco-friendly paint, coatings, plumbing fixtures, lighting, heating equipment, and appliances.
The project team includes Assemble Design Workshop (architect; Wilmette, Ill.) and SAS Architects & Planners (interior design; Northbrook, Ill.).
Completion is slated for mid-2026.
