Owner/developer FilBren Group (Rye Brook, N.Y.) celebrated the completion of foundation work and the beginning of above-ground construction for the $54 million Braemar at Montebello, in Montebello, N.Y. (For more on Braemar at Montebello, go here.)

Situated on 6.2 acres, the 133,675-square foot luxury assisted living and memory care community will feature a Victorian aesthetic.

The four-story community will include 133 residential units, including one-person studio units and two-bedroom semi-private units. An additional 22 memory care units will be located in a designated neighborhood.

Amenities comprise a 3,500-square-foot main dining room, private dining room, pub and game room, billiard room, café, business lounge, general store, arts and crafts room, library, chapel, cinema, and family lounge with an adjacent kids’ room.


A 940-square foot parlor is also planned that will open onto a 1,000-square-foot outdoor terrace.

The project team includes H2M Architects + Engineers (designer; Melville, N.Y.), McAlpine Contracting (contractor, New York), Booker Engineering (site engineer; Monroe, Wash.), Robert G. Torgersen LA (landscape designer; Nanuet, N.Y.), Fellenzer Engineering LLP (MEP; Middletown, N.Y.), and Mulhern+Kulp Residential Structural Engineering (structural engineer; Philadelphia).
