The 2025 Environments for Aging Conference + Expo announces writer and urbanist Charles Montgomery as the opening keynote speaker at the 2025 conference, held April 26-29, in Lexington, Ky.
Montgomery is the founder of Happy Cities, an urban planning, design, and consulting firm (Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada), and author of Happy City: Transforming Our Lives Through Urban Design, which examines the intersection between urban design and the emerging science of happiness.
His keynote session will be held on Sunday, April 27.
During his career, Montgomery has collaborated with the World Health Organization and the American Society of Landscape Architects (Washington, D.C.) to create experiments and design methods that help participants alter their relationships with their cities and with each other.
