The Somerhill, a senior living community in Somerville, Mass., has selected the project team for a $17.3 million renovation, according to nerej.com.

Khalsa Design Inc. (Somerville, Mass.) is serving as architect, and Congress Construction (Peabody, Mass.) is the construction manager.

The project will replace the 3-story, 92,000-square-foot building envelope and install new heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. All residential units will be renovated with new kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, and finishes. Common areas will be refreshed, and a salon, art room, and fitness center will be added.

The building will also be made solar-ready and converted to an all-electric system, which is expected to reduce energy use by 40 percent.

Construction is expected to be completed in early 2027.
