Reservations for the 2026 program are now closed. The 2027 dates and deadlines will be posted soon.
Each year, submissions focus on single spaces, including dining spaces, lounges/activity areas, lobbies, and other resident spaces.
A panel of experts reviews all submissions and determines Gold, Silver, and Bronze winners. Winners receive special recognition at our annual Environments for Aging Conference + Expo, and bonus coverage of their projects in the Fall issue of Environments for Aging.
All submitted projects are published in a Remodel/Renovation Gallery (Fall issue) with a quarter-page project description and photos*, giving readers the opportunity to view all competition entries. Award-winning projects are upgraded to a spread or full page.
*Quarter-page includes one before/after image; project name, 50 words of text, and firm contact information.
Projects must be completed within the past 3 years. EFA also accepts projects in progress and unbuilt/conceptual designs. Those submissions must include quality renderings.
