Nestled within a vibrant neighborhood in Mayfield Heights, Ohio, and surrounded by local shops and a scenic wetland preserve, Anthology of Mayfield Heights is home to both a two-story main building with independent living, assisted living, and memory care services as well as neighboring luxury cottages offering additional independent living.
The architecture of the main building is based on a townhouse aesthetic, utilizing traditional masonry and concrete details reminiscent of a nearby historic main street.
Inspired by the Midwest prairie, the interior spaces are imbued with touches that are a nod to the history and culture of Cleveland and its surrounding communities.
Tones of greens, blues, and yellows are carried throughout, yet each amenity within the building is given its own look and feel to create an immersive hotel-like experience, attractive to seniors. For example, the lobby highlights prairie sand-colored tile and stone detailing up the main feature wall, along with an expansive river-like glass feature running in a linear fashion and viewed on first entry. The bistro bar, which is connected to the Grand Foyer, has a casual vibe, with rust colored tile and a wood canopy ceiling accented with decorative lighting. Each space features a custom carpet pattern that evokes the lake, prairie, and dunes.
Each of the three residential neighborhoods has its own distinct courtyard, which serves as an activity hub while also defining the neighborhoods and giving each one a distinguishable sense of place.
Another goal of the project was to create a community with an increased emphasis on active amenities. The campus includes a four-seasons dining and activity room, library, and assisted bathing for the memory care unit, while a bistro and private dining options, business center, fitness center, and art gallery round out the assisted living amenities.
Independent living residents have access to a great room and bistro, large community room, several formal and casual dining options, swimming pool, clubhouse, fitness center, theater room, chapel, activity space with craft room, and family suites for visitor use. Interwoven walking paths surrounded by tall grasses and trees provide opportunities for movement around the site, as well.
