Sunrise of Huntington in Huntington Station, N.Y., is an upscale senior living community. Its massing is based on the concept of an original Federal-style brick mansion with a porte-cochère and covered porch for guests, while space planning promotes resident engagement and overall wellness.

The 78,000-square-foot, two-story community features 90 units, including 50 assisted living and 40 memory care units. The second floor houses assisted living amenity spaces flanked by two separate memory care neighborhoods. Common areas—living rooms, dining rooms, and activity rooms—on each floor serve both assisted living and memory care residents. Amenities include an entertainment center, hair salon, exercise room, and movie theater, as well as medical exam and physical therapy rooms.

Architectural details establish a natural flow of separate entrances and exits from each amenity space and maximize views from one room to another. Sensitively screened outdoor terraces and manicured gardens provide sunlit spaces for residents to walk and gather.
