The Baldwin is planned to be integrated within the mixed-use development, Woodmont Commons, in Londonderry, N.H., and will be the first multigenerational continuing care retirement community (CCRC) in the area. Features of the 485,800-square-foot project, expected to be completed in October 2022, include six interconnected four-story buildings offering independent and assisted living options.
Designed by DiMella Shaffer, the project will feature contextual materials that emulate the region, including large porcelain tiles of varying shades that pay homage to local stone and granite, fiber cement siding representing the traditional wood siding of New England homes, and wood infused with resin and wood imitation porcelain tile to add a natural feel and warm tones to the building façades.
Each assisted living household will include a living room, den, dining room, kitchen, spa, and private bedrooms with en-suite, accessible bathrooms. Common areas will include lounges with fireplaces and outdoor decks, a café, restaurant open to the public, library, theater/multipurpose room, convenience store, salon/spa, art studio and gallery, and a fitness center with a swimming pool. Assisted living communities will feature a household unit arrangement.
