The 2025 Environments for Aging Conference + Expo, sets its sights on the “Horse Capital of the World,” as it brings together the senior living design industry in Lexington, Ky., April 26-29.
The annual four-day conference, held at the Capital Bank Center, will feature keynote presentations, educational sessions, and networking events as well as an expo hall full of the latest products and services. Here’s a look at the 2025 keynote lineup:
EFA Conference Opening Keynote, Sunday, April 27, 9-10:15 a.m.
The EFA Conference kicks off with a keynote presentation by Charles Montgomery, an award-winning author, urbanist, and founder of Happy Cities, an urban planning, design, and consulting firm based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Through his work, he’s dedicated to promoting design of public spaces, streets, and housing that nurtures well-being for all community members.
During his career, Montgomery has collaborated with the World Health Organization and the American Society of Landscape Architects (Washington, D.C.) to create experiments and design methods that help participants alter their relationships with their cities and with each other.
EFA Magazine Awards Luncheon, Sunday, April 27, 11:45 a.m.-1:15 p.m.
EFA magazine will celebrate the winners of the annual Design Showcase, Remodel/Renovation Competition, and the 2024 Design Champions awards programs during this luncheon. Editor-in-chief Anne DiNardo will emcee the luncheon open to all attendees.
State of Senior Living Panel Discussion, Monday, April 28, 2:30-3:30 p.m.
A panel discussion, moderated by Environments for Aging Brand Leader Jennifer Kovacs Silvis, will dive into the current political and economic climate and its impact on construction as well as the senior living industry in general.
Panelists include Jeffrey Anderzhon, principal of senior living master planning firm Crepidoma Consulting, LLC; Lucy Boxrud, president of management and consulting firm Elysian Senior Homes; and Amy Carpenter, a free-agent architect with more than 30 years of experience on senior living projects.
