A kitchen area helps families feel a sense of normalcy and offers a communal meeting area. Flanked by additional sitting areas and a children’s room, the space becomes a secondary family living area for families.

EGA Architects and SV Design developed the headwall to hide medical equipment in the bedrooms. A custom window seat and sofa bed are included in the rooms for family members to visit with loved ones and spend the night.

Each of the 18 bedrooms and bathrooms was designed so patients can get the care they need without equipment and supplies getting in the way.

The contemplation chapel contains an art glass window reminiscent of birch trees. The space overlooks a private outdoor garden.

The children’s room features an aquarium and gives young visitors a place to have fun and relax while spending time with family members.

White oak wood planks adorn the walls throughout the hospice facility. Soothing color palettes were used inside the facility to match the serenity of the outside environment, which includes gardens, walkways, and masonry walls repurposed from ledge excavated on site.

The conference room provides an inspirational meeting space for the executive team, administrative staff, and board of directors and includes technology features and unique design elements such as a recessed acoustical ceiling with floating light fixtures.

The exterior of the 29,127-square-foot facility features 75,000 hand-dipped red cedar singles and large glass windows overlooking the Cambridge Reservoir.

Care Dimensions Hospice House, an 18-bed inpatient hospice facility, offers skilled medical care in a facility designed to feel like home. Special design consideration was also given to create a functional and uplifting environment for the staff.
Located in Lincoln, Mass., the building, designed by EGA Architects (Newburyport, Mass.) features 75,000 hand-dipped red cedar shingles on the exterior and large windows overlooking the Cambridge Reservoir. The interior offers thoughtfully selected design elements, such as floor-to-ceiling millwork, built-in window benches, soothing color palettes, fireplaces, a kitchen, and family gathering spaces.
