The Outlook At Windhaven, Texas

On the 18-acre site of a former working farm in the flourishing Dallas suburb of Plano, Texas, The Outlook at Windhaven is a Hill Country-inspired senior living community currently under construction.

The Outlook at Windhaven is conceived to support the goal of nonprofit owner-developer Forefront Living (Dallas) to expand offerings throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and Texas more broadly. Working in collaboration with Greystone Communities (Irving, Texas), national architecture firm Three (Dallas) aims to deliver a community that offers an amenity-rich environment and supports purposeful living for residents.

Hospitality-inspired design engages senior residents

The 530,000-square-foot community will comprise 30 cottage homes and 153 independent living units, plus a 56-unit building for assisted living and memory care. The aesthetic will feature high-end, hospitality-inspired elements with an unpretentious vibe.

The design takes cues from an existing grove of trees lining the farmland’s creek. Units and cottages feature expansive windows to capture views of the idyllic setting, plus balcony and great room features to connect residents directly to nature.

To emphasize community and a “front-porch feel,” the independent living cottages feature actual porches. Residents enjoy a balance between privacy and social interaction, thanks to a campus plan that organizes units and amenities in ways that foster encounters between neighbors throughout the day.

Amenities will include a fitness center with aerobics studio and lockers, an indoor pool, and underground parking.
