Nonprofit management company Waverly Senior Services (Gladwyne, Pa.) is under contract to purchase a 43-acre site from The Haverford School in Bryn Mawr, Pa., to develop as a satellite campus for Waverly Heights, according to Montco.today.
The new campus for Waverly Heights, a continuing care retirement community (CCRC) in Gladwyne, comprises 224 units in 15 apartment-style buildings and eight duplex homes. Additional plans include a welcome house, amenity center, and 521 parking spaces.
Located about 3 miles from the main Waverly Heights campus, the former school site houses classrooms, a gym, cafeteria, offices, apartments, and six cottages previously used as dormitories. Waverly Senior Services plans to retain only the main building as a leasing office, while the rest of the project will be new construction.
