Arbor Terrace Basking Ridge, New Jersey
Known for being home to the world’s oldest white oak tree at one time, Basking Ridge, N.J., is the quintessential colonial village town. It’s also the future home of luxury senior living operator The Arbor Company’s (Atlanta) newest assisted living and memory care community, Arbor Terrace Basking Ridge.
The project will include 27 assisted living units, 29 memory care units, and a 24-unit Bridges neighborhood for residents with mild cognitive decline.
Design for early stages of dementia
The Bridges neighborhood offers a blend of assisted living and dementia care. The specialized space is specifically designed for residents who will benefit from added cognitive support due to early stages of dementia.
The Bridges neighborhood mirrors the amenities of the assisted living neighborhood but within a secured environment.
This design promotes an emphasis on independence while maintaining a safe space for its residents.
Colonial design in senior living
Overall, the community’s traditional architecture and design reflects the historic vernacular of Basking Ridge with an updated Americana aesthetic.
The two-story building’s whitewashed brick and stone rustication accentuate traditional architectural forms common to the area and continue within the interior design.
A palette of rich navy and green mixed with light wood finishes provide a modern approach to traditional colonial styling. Modern plaids and patterns provide a fresh approach to the traditional furniture forms.
Inside the community, residents will have access to amenities including a library, salon and nail spa, creative art studio, media room, fitness center, as well as an on-site therapy and rehabilitation center.
Outdoors, the campus offers courtyards with walking trails, gardens, and a variety of seating areas.
