New Haven Assisted Living and Memory Care  and real estate developer Investcor (Lakeway, Texas) have finished a $9 million renovation and preservation project at Fairhaven Assisted Living, an historic assisted living community in Denton, Texas.

Situated on 3 acres, the 30,000-square-foot community was opened in 1965. The renovation updated a 47-unit building to preserve the mid-century design of the community’s original Texas architect, O’Neil Ford.

Other renovations included updating and expanding existing living spaces for more common areas and activity rooms, refurbishing the original wood-framed, floor-to-ceiling glass windows, and the adding a new HVAC and electrical system.

The project team included Pi Architects (design; Austin, Texas), Allison Engineering (structural engineer; Denton), TDi Engineering (civil engineer; Austin), MEP Associates Design Groups (mechanical contractor; Tyler Texas), and Architexas (historic preservation consultant; Dallas).
