The Pinnacle, North Bethesda, Maryland
The Pinnacle is a 17-story senior living community under construction in North Bethesda, Md., in the heart of the Rockville Pike Corridor—a suburban area outside Washington, D.C., that is rapidly transforming into a more walkable, mixed-use cityscape.
Situated on a site of less than 1 acre, The Pinnacle will include 191 independent living, assisted living, and memory care units above 15,000 square feet of street-level retail. Residents of The Pinnacle will have direct access to the adjacent Pike & Rose District, a 24-acre mixed-use neighborhood offering a vibrant “mini-city” experience of shops, restaurants, parks, and entertainment venues.
Responding to growing demand for senior housing in mixed-use neighborhoods, The Pinnacle offers residents the opportunity to stay connected to an active, urban lifestyle.
The tower is comprised of a strong, grounded masonry base, a defined middle section that combines brick and glass to emphasize verticality, and a lighter, articulated top floor. Materials including red brick, aluminum composite panels, and glass accents reference the architectural language of the surrounding Pike & Rose District. Terraces and elevated dining areas create welcoming outdoor spaces, while active ground-floor retail activates the streetscape. The garage façade incorporates artwork on mesh panels that celebrates the neighborhood’s vibrant public art culture.
Designed by architecture firm PRDG (Dallas) and interior designer Faulkner Design Group (Dallas), the community is focused on wellness, connection, and urban living.
Wellness design at The Pinnacle
Expected to open in 2026, The Pinnacle will offer a full suite of hospitality-inspired amenities inside the 390,000-square-foot community. Wellness-focused amenity spaces include a spa, salon, indoor pool, and fourth-floor wellness lounge with a “smart glass” wall that separates the indoor pool from the wellness lounge to allow residents to control privacy.
Connection and social interaction are fostered through thoughtfully placed gathering spaces distributed throughout the tower, creating distinct destinations on different levels rather than concentrating amenities in a single area. The entry lobby’s four-story atrium visually connects to the Level 4 wellness lounge upon walking through the front door.
The Level 4 bistro offers a relaxed spot for coffee and snacks, and the Level 9 bar/lounge provides a bright, light-filled space for pre-dining socializing. At the top, the 17th-floor Sky Lounge features floor-to-ceiling glass, an elevated terrace, and stylish seating, offering residents panoramic city views.
The project’s ground-level retail activates the streetscape, while terraces, and elevated dining venues blur the line between indoor and outdoor living, extending the energy of the Pike & Rose District into The Pinnacle.
