Opened in March 2018, Journey Senior Living in Valparaiso, Ind., is an assisted living and memory care community that offers a safe and secure environment for its residents.
The 91,000-square-foot facility, designed by Perimeter Architects (Chicago), houses 100 units. The 24 memory care apartments are located on the first floor and separated into two wings of 12 units each. The assisted living units are located on the upper three floors.
Lighting and color sensitivities were carefully considered throughout the interior spaces, such as avoiding excessive pattern changes in the flooring for residents with spatial perception issues. Outside, enclosed courtyards feature walking paths lush with landscape and herb gardens, providing a comforting and secure place for residents to enjoy the outdoors.
