Brookdale Senior Living will create spaces designed specifically for those with Alzheimer's and related dementias within the existing buildings of two of its communities in the Chicago Metropolitan area.
The two communities, Brookdale Prospect Heights and Brookdale Burr Ridge, will soon be able to accommodate those in different stages of the disease.
Combined, the projects total a $4 million investment and are part of a capital investment and community management joint venture between Brookdale and HCP Inc.
The expansion at Brookdale Prospect Heights consists of converting existing space into 26 new apartments for those in the early stages of dementia.
The Brookdale Burr Ridge project consists of converting existing assisted living apartments into 26 new apartments for those in the mid to late stages of dementia.
