The Gardens at Brook Ridge, a new, all-inclusive assisted living and memory community in the Rio Grande Valley city of Pharr, Texas, will open its doors on June 23. The community is part of the Bend, Ore.-based Sunshine Retirement Living family and is adjacent to the company’s independent living community, Brook Ridge.
With an emphasis on providing customized levels of care for each resident, The Gardens at Brook Ridge features 65 assisted living and 17 memory care apartments. The assisted living apartments are available in studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom options. The memory care units offer private, shared and semi-private floorplans.
To encourage socialization, the community offers a wellness program with an extensive activity calendar, fitness center and pool, movies in the on-site theater, a café, library, chapel, and several spacious indoor common and sitting areas. A wheelchair accessible bus is available to take residents to local doctor’s appointments, shopping and more.
Additionally, The Gardens at Brook Ridge provides weekly housekeeping, complimentary utilities and cable TV, and each resident is provided a wireless pendant necklace to provide additional security.
The exterior was inspired by traditional Texas architecture with red brick masonry, two-story colonnades, a cupola with a weather vane, and deep wrap-around porches. The landscape features decorative native plants, an oasis at the main entry and specialty gardens throughout the grounds, and an outdoor dining and seating area.
