St. Gabriel’s Community, located in Bismarck, N.D., opened its new senior housing community May 24. The 150,000-square-foot, $25 million expansion triples the size of its campus meeting the growing demand for senior care services in the area. The expansion includes an addition of 64 independent and assisted living apartments and 33 basic care suites and apartments, as well as expanded therapy offerings.

The campus also now offers a gourmet bistro and coffee bar open to the public; a restaurant-style kitchen and dining promoting choice witha full short-order menu; a lounge where guests can enjoy happy hour with friends; heated underground parking; and outdoor patios with views of Bismarck.

The new community features a contemporary design, stylish furnishings and modern amenities, while vintage photographs of Bismarck and Mandan line the walls in recognition of the cities’ rich, colorful history.  Neighborhoods, dining areas and meeting spaces are named after historic Bismarck hotels and regional geographic landmarks.

Construction, which began in March 2016, was led by Fargo-based Olaf Anderson Construction.
