A groundbreaking ceremony was held for Spectrum Health's new $25 million Rehab and Nursing Center in Grand Rapids, Mich.
The two-story, 123,000-square-foot building is scheduled to open in summer 2016 and will house patients receiving short-term and long-term care, according to an article from MLive.com. It replaces a smaller facility built in 1964.
The facility will use a household model of care, separated into four households on each floor, each with dedicated living areas. The building also provides a rehabilitation gym, private treatment rooms, and a low-stimulation gym for patients with neurological conditions, according to the article.
The project architect is MKM Architecture and it’s being built by The Christman Co.
