Siena on the Lake (Racine, Wisconsin) held the grand opening of the first phase of its campus transformation.
The Racine Dominican Sisters and Lincoln Lutheran of Racine developed a new partnership to create a continuing care lifestyle community on the existing campus to ensure a sustainable future for the lakeside campus.
Eppstein Uhen Architects was brought in to create a financially feasible repositioning solution to transform the campus through master planning and design. The repositioning solution allows the Sisters to continue to live and teach at Siena on the Lake in addition to incorporating additional continuing care options through the Lincoln Lutheran network.
The enhanced retreat center features private rooms and bathrooms for retreat guests, a wide variety of meeting rooms, a bookstore, dining rooms and lounges with a visual connection to the lake.
With the new construction finished, the existing buildings are now available for alterations. Future phases will add a full spectrum of care including independent living apartments, long-term nursing, memory care, rehabilitation, and more for older adults seeking an ecumenical living environment.
