Dial Retirement Communities has announced plans to begin construction this spring on a piece of vacant land near Aksarben Village in Omaha, Neb.

The approximately $30 million project, named Aksarben Village Senior Living Community, will have sixty units for assisted living, 27 will be memory care apartments, and 49 will be for independent living.

Amenities at the senior living center will include two separate dining rooms, a theater room, gym, beauty and coffee shops, a small chapel and a kitchen that will be used for cooking classes and other activities.

The Planning Board endorsed the proposal and it is now awaiting City Council approval.

It is anticipated that the project will be completed by summer or early fall 2015. There could be a second phase of 50 independent-living apartments once the first 49 are filled.
