Seabury at Springvale Terrace, an independent living and assisted living senior community in Silver Spring, Md., is being redeveloped into a modern, larger affordable senior living community. The project is targeted to open in April 2025.
Approved in April by a planning board, the project will demolish the existing 1960s-era building and replace it with a multistory community with up to 237 apartments, according to a post by operator Seabury Resources for Aging (Washington, D.C.).
Apartments will have one or two bedrooms, a full kitchen, and a washer and dryer.
Amenity spaces will include a large social hall, library, fitness, game and media rooms, and bike storage, as well as outdoor seating areas and increased green space.
A focus on green building design and architecture strategies that respect the character of the neighborhood are stated design goals on the project.
