Revera, a senior living operator (Edmonton, Alberta, Canada), broke ground on a new retirement community in northeast Edmonton.
The $44 million McConachie Gardens community is scheduled to open in spring 2018 with 160 suites, including 104 independent living suites, 28 assisted living suites, and 28 memory care suites.
Independent living will be in a four-story building and assisted living and memory care will be in a separate two-story wing.
Located on a 3.3 acre site in a growing residential area, the community will also house a fitness center and spa, outdoor fitness circuit, planting and gardening areas, a healing garden in the memory care residence, art studio, multimedia room, and several restaurant-style dining options.
The project, marking Revera's 13th retirement community in Alberta, is targeting LEED Silver certification.
