New York State Homes and Community Renewal (Albany, N.Y.) is planning a renovation at Kingsley House, an affordable community in White Plains, N.Y., according to an article in New York Yimby.
The $35.8 million renovation will involve upgrades to the resident units, including new interior doors and hardware, flooring, updated bathrooms, energy-efficient appliances, and high-efficiency heating and cooling systems.
New flooring and LED lighting for the common spaces, new finishes in the library and community room, and an updated façade and entryway, including making it wheelchair accessible, are also planned. The scope of work also includes new energy-efficient windows and balcony doors to meet green building requirements.
The 12-story community includes 33 studios, 115 one-bedroom units, and 15 two-bedroom units.
