Oakmont Senior Living Breaks Ground On Luxury Retirement Community

Oakmont Senior Living has broken ground on a 43,000-square-foot luxury retirement community in Alameda, Calif. Oakmont of Mariner Point is expected to be completed in early 2015 and will provide a combination of lifestyle offerings and as-needed assisted living and memory care services.

Oakmont Senior Living has broken ground on a 43,000-square-foot luxury retirement community in Alameda, Calif. Oakmont of Mariner Point is expected to be completed in early 2015 and will provide a combination of lifestyle offerings and as-needed assisted living and memory care services.

According to Executive Director Rebecca Cockrill, amenities will include gourmet dining, concierge services, library, a movie theater and multiple recreation rooms for an array of daily entertainment activities, as well as a comprehensive catalog of care options.

The two-story community will have 33 assisted living and 19 memory care apartments in several floor plan options that include 10-foot high ceilings, crown molding, and spacious bathrooms. It will also offer a full-size fitness center, games, arts and crafts, a salon and day spa, a flower and vegetable garden, orchard, walking paths, a pet park, and more.

Oakmont of Mariner Point will also specialize in memory care and cater to individuals with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, including early memory loss. In addition to the assisted living services, the communities will offer special therapy programs that strengthen and engage dementia patients.
