Construction has started on Norterre, a multigenerational wellness and residential living community in Liberty, Mo.

The $66-million first phase of the project will include a healthy living center, café, households for seniors, and short-term stay rehabilitation suites; it’s expected to open by summer 2017. Construction of the second phase is planned to immediately follow with independent living and non-age-specific housing options.

The community will be built on a 17-acre campus adjacent to Liberty Hospital with greenspaces for cross-generational and cultural activities. A 50,000-square-foot healthy living center will be part of the neighborhood’s town square.
