The LaSalle Group (Irving, Texas) has started construction on the Autumn Leaves of Southwest Oklahoma City, a new 30,000-square-foot, $9.5 million memory care community in southwest Oklahoma City, Okla.

Utilizing current research, Autumn Leaves of Southwest Oklahoma City will feature building design and technology that creates a calm, safe, and engaging environment. A life engagement program will fulfill residents’ needs for artistic expression, physical activity, spiritual support, community connections, continuing education, and lifestyle and leisure.

The community also offers a full service beauty and barber salon, on-site memory care nurses, and meals prepared by a chef and dietician.

Due to high tornado activity in the area, Autumn Leaves of Southwest Oklahoma City will be the first Autumn Leaves community in the country with a tornado safety area. During construction, crews will reinforce one of the corridors with additional concrete on all sides.  The area will serve as a tornado shelter during severe weather.

The community will also feature a motion sensor program in each resident’s private room that allows for safer independent living. The system subtly alerts staff members, if needed, and gathers information that serves to improve the resident’s comfort level.

Autumn Leaves of Southwest Oklahoma City is the result of a partnership between The LaSalle Group, Silverado Interests, and Prosperity Bank. Once open, the community will provide free services for families in the area including educational seminars, speakers, and Alzheimer’s support groups. The community will also offer respite care.

Autumn Leaves of Southwest Oklahoma City will be located approximately 12 miles from downtown Oklahoma City. It is four miles from St. Anthony Healthplex South and six miles from Integris Southwest Medical Center.

The architect is Curtis Group Architects, Ltd (Dallas).
