National Development, Benchmark Senior Living Break Ground On New Community In Scotch Plains, New Jersey

The community will house 63 assisted living units and 23 memory care units and is expected to be completed in summer 2026.

National Development, a real estate investment and development firm, and Benchmark Senior Living (Waltham, Mass.), a senior living provider, broke ground on a 86-unit assisted living and memory care community in Scotch Plains, N.J.

Situated on 4.6 acres, the community will house 63 assisted living units and 23 memory care units.

The designated memory care floor will house a dining room, lobby, courtyard, living room, expansive terrace, laundry facilities, salon, and clubroom.

The assisted living neighborhood will include a fitness facility, salon, theater, sports lounge, and multipurpose room.

Completion is slated for summer 2026.

Additionally, National Development and Benchmark Senior Living announced they have acquired  Whisper Woods of Smithtown, a 125-bed assisted living and memory care community in Suffolk County, N.Y.
