Nashua Crossings (Nashua, N.H.), a Benchmark Senior Living community, recently completed construction of a new 14,675-square-foot memory care wing called The Harbor.
The one-story, 27-bed addition includes 20 one- and-two-bedroom apartments with a number of accessible apartments as well. The new expansion complements the existing 62 apartments of traditional assisted living.
Designed by Udelsman Associates (Hollis, N.H.), the new building has a nurses’ station, a large activity/living room, a country-kitchen style dining room with an adjacent prep kitchen, and two exterior courtyard areas with porches for the residents. The design features bright colors to aid spatial recognition, bathroom fixtures in different colors for easier identification, and carpeting of special textures and hues for secure footing.
The general contractor on the project is Nauset Construction (Needham Heights, Mass.).
