Mount Miguel Covenant Village (Spring Valley, Calif.), a continuing care retirement community operated by Covenant Retirement Communities, broke ground on a $15 million construction project that will be the senior living community’s Village Center. The 33,000-square-foot building will house three dining venues, administration offices, theater, fitness center and pool, health clinic and examination rooms, an art studio, and classrooms.

BYCOR General Contractors (San Diego) and Ankrom Moisan (Portland, Ore.) have been selected to design and build the new building. Construction is expected to take 12-18 months with a grand opening scheduled for winter 2015.

San Diego-based companies, Lord Architecture and Pannel Construction assisted the senior living community in designing and building the new wing, which included 10 private rooms, dining room, kitchenette, lounge, and a secure outdoor garden and walking area.
