Methodist Retirement Communities has revelaed plans to develop a new senior living community in College Station, Texas. The organization anticipates a mid-to-late September closing on the purchase of 12 acres of land for the project.

Each of the five-story buildings will have six apartments per floor with a common living room and kitchenette on each floor. There will also be on-site assisted living apartments and memory support suites. The entire community will also feature a clubhouse with restaurant, outdoor living spaces, and dedicated space for activities and fitness and wellness programs.

Methodist Retirement Communities will obtain all necessary city approvals for its new independent living flats, as well as create an Information Center to provide prospective residents with community design plans, floor plan options, and sample finishes. The College Station city council recently approved tax-exempt bond financing for the development.

Once the independent living flats are 75 percent reserved, Methodist Retirement Communities will finalize securing construction financing and begin building, with a projected completion date in or before 2018.
