Mather LifeWays plans to renovate and expand Mather Place of Wilmette (Wilmette, Ill.) to support Wilmette’s growing demand for senior living. The Wilmette Village board voted and approved the plans.
The renovation includes an expanded fitness center and wellness suite; a cinema; updated creative arts studio and sundries shop; expanded multipurpose spaces, library, and computer center; and enhanced salon and day spa.
Thirty-nine apartment homes are planned, bringing the total number of apartments to 174.
Amenities and comforts which will also be added include an indoor swimming pool, a café, an “all season” gazebo in a new landscaped courtyard, a glass-enclosed space linking two corridors to encourage exercise and group interaction, and bring more natural light into community spaces, and an additional walking path around the community.
