Maplewood At Stony Hill, part of Maplewood Senior Living, has opened in Bethel, Conn. The three-story, 84-unit memory care and assisted living facility broke ground in September 2013.
Designed by Perkins Eastman on a small house model, Stony Hill offers residents levels of care based on individual needs, with apartments situated within distinct neighborhoods that offer a feeling of home and comfort.
The new facility features an Alzheimer’s Educational Resource Center, where friends, family and visitors obtain research and learn about the effects of Alzheimer’s disease. Other amenities at Maplewood at Stony Hill include a spa, outdoor gardens and gathering spaces, and terraces with water views.
The design layout divides each floor into two neighborhoods, each with its own residential environment including activity areas and living room, along with a shared dining room on each floor with an open kitchen and farm-to-table dining.
