Lakewood Senior Housing Begins Construction In Daytona Beach, Florida

The 62+ affordable senior living community will house 56 independent living units, with four units designed for residents with mobility, visual, and hearing impairments.

Housing and community development organization Acruva (Deerfield Beach, Fla.) is building the 62+ Lakewood Senior Housing community in Daytona Beach, Fla., according to the Daytona Beach News-Journal.

The affordable senior living community will comprise 56 independent living units in a 4-story building. The one-bedroom units will average 570 square feet. Additionally, three units will be equipped for residents with mobility impairments, and one unit will be designed to accommodate residents with visual and/or hearing impairments.

Amenities will include a laundry room on each floor, fitness area, multipurpose room with computers, and mail room. Healthcare provider Sunshine Health (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) is partnering on the project to provide senior-focused supportive services.

The $20.3 million project has been designed in compliance with Americans with Disabilities and National Green Building standards, with energy-efficient appliances.

The project team includes The Martin Architectural Group (architect; Coconut Creek, Fla.) and Marmer Construction (general contractor; Sebring, Fla.).
