Jewish Senior Services held a grand opening of The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Campus, in Bridgeport, Conn. Located on a site formerly occupied by the Bridgeport Jewish Community Center, the 373,000-square-foot community offers assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing care, and short-term rehabilitation.
The project team includes design and architecture firm Perkins Eastman and construction manager KBE Building Corp.
The four-story building includes 280 private rooms for skilled care, including memory support and short-term rehabilitative care. Each household comprises 14 rooms that are situated around a shared kitchen, dining room, common area, and clinical support space.
Residential spaces are organized into two clusters of three households apiece on each floor to simplify circulation and reduce walking distances for both residents and staff. The dining and activity areas have views of the campus gardens and courtyards.
Additionally, 18 one-bedroom assisted living apartments and 28 memory care studios are located on the first floor.
The new campus also houses new offices for the Federation for Jewish Philanthropy, a synagogue, kosher café, and fitness center with a swimming pool.
