Affordable housing developer WNC & Associates (Irvine, Calif.) and development partner North Arrow Development (Villa Park, Ill.) have started construction on Jefferson School Lofts, an affordable senior living community in Oskaloosa, Iowa, according to a news release.
The $12.9 million project involves the adaptive reuse of a former school building into a 55+ independent living community with 37 one-bedroom units and five two-bedroom units.
The community is expected to be completed before the end of 2026.
