Artis Senior Living has broken ground on four assisted living communities in the Midwest and Northeast, including Branford, Conn. (first quarter 2017) ; Elmhurst, Ill. (first quarter 2017); Green Township, Ohio (fourth quarter 2016); and Reading, Mass. (first quarter 2017).
Combined, the projects will accommodate and provide care for more than 270 residents living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.
Design features include smaller-scale spaces, residential finishes, and the use of themes for wayfinding and location recognition. The communities in Branford, Elmhurst, and Green Township will feature four distinct neighborhoods which include a living room den, a residential kitchen, and a dining room where meals are served.
The neighborhoods will connect to a Town Center with a health center, community center, studio, beauty/barber shop, and access to secure outdoor courtyards. The Reading community will also have a café in the Town Center.
The architect for all four projects is LK Architecture. The general contractors are Enterprise Builders (Hartford, Conn.); Carlson Construction (Joliet, Ill.); HGC Construction Co. (Cincinnati); and Dellbrook Construction/JK Scanlan Co. LLC (Quincy, Mass.)
