Environments for Aging announced the 2022 winners of its annual Design Champions awards program.
Design Champions is designed to celebrate the individual contributions of professionals working within the senior living design industry who are fighting to effect meaningful change in the lives of residents, staff, and the greater community. This year, one group award was given, as well.
Winners are specifically recognized for contributions within the past two years.
The 2022 Design Champions are:
- Vanessa Shumate, senior project architect, American Structurepoint (Indianapolis)
- Kasian Senior Living Environments Design Analysis Team: Christine Weber Craik, senior interior designer, senior associate; Aziz Bootwala, senior principal, vice president, seniors market sector chair; Nancy Wilson, senior project architect, associate; and Deborah Wadsworth, senior project architect, associate, Kasian Architecture Interior Design and Planning Ltd.(Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada)
- Bruce Hurowitz, principal, MDP (Merlino Design Partnership) (King of Prussia, Pa.)
- Jill Schroeder, senior planner, Pope Design Group (St. Paul, Minn.)
Individual profiles of the winners will be published in Environments for Aging’s Winter 2022 issue. The group also will be recognized during the magazine’s annual awards luncheon at the 2023 Environments for Aging Conference + Expo, taking place April 15-18 at the Charlotte Convention Center, Charlotte, N.C.
