Edgemere in Dallas, a Senior Quality Lifestyles Corp. community, has broken ground on its $36 million renovation and expansion project.

The first phase of the project adds a 6,000-square-foot performing arts center to the center courtyard. It will have a bar and lounge, arched ceilings with exposed wooden beams and a stage.

Additionally, an extensive renovation is planned for two dining venues. Plans also include adding eight new assisted living apartment homes, 12 new memory support suites and 15 new skilled nursing private suites.

The Plaza common areas will be updated with indoor/outdoor courtyards as well as renovated dining areas, and an underground parking garage will be added.
The project is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2018.
