Union Village LLC and The Valley Health System will hold a ceremonial groundbreaking to kick off construction on one of the world’s first integrated health villages in Henderson, Nev. Construction on the $1.2 billion project will begin as The Valley Health System breaks ground on a new acute care hospital, its sixth facility in Southern Nevada.

Called Union Village, the model for healthcare will offer a hospital complex and health center; residential, entertainment, and specialty retail space; a senior retirement community; and a civic and cultural arts center integrated into a master-planned community.

In January, Union Village purchased around 170 gross acres of land from the city of Henderson and sold 38.5 acres of the land to The Valley Health System, which will use the acreage to develop an acute care hospital within the complex.
