Non-profit Brookhaven at Lexington has expanded its continuing care retirement community in Lexington, Mass.
The expansion includes the addition of the four-story Wellesley building with 49 independent living units. The two-bedroom residences range from 1,200 to 1,700 square feet and offer high-end finishes, views of campus, enclosed parking, and outdoor living spaces.
The building houses a new pool, expanded and updated fitness center, and a performance center with a lobby on the first and second floors. Assisted living households with a mix of studio and 1-bedroom units are on the third and fourth floors, with room to add 12 dedicated skilled nursing beds in the future
Brookhaven at Lexington underwent its first expansion in 2003 when the 26-acre community added a 48-unit independent living building, renovated all common areas, and expanded and updated the assisted living and long-term care facility.
The project team includes DiMella Shaffer (architect and design; Boston).
