Healthcare management company AmeriCare Health & Retirement (Solana Beach, Calif.) and developer Ryan Companies (Minneapolis) have opened a new flagship community in San Diego.
Situated on 11 acres, Silvergate Rancho Bernardo offers independent living, assisted living, and memory care featuring a mix of 20 free-standing cottages, 108 apartments, six penthouses, and 48 memory care units. Amenity spaces include two restaurants, a media center, lounge, banquet room, theater, mail room, health center, spa, yoga studio, fitness center, art studio, card room, game lounge, a pool with club house, and underground parking.
As part of the project’s design, Silvergate Rancho Bernardo has built a large gray water system in San Diego, which will allow much of the community’s wastewater to be recycled onsite and reused for landscaping. A large rooftop solar array, drip irrigation, LED lighting, low-flow plumbing fixtures, native planting, turf, and storm water retention systems will also be incorporated into the community.
