ACTS Retirement-Life Communities (Philadelphia) is investing $300 million over the next three years in its retirement communities as part of a multiyear strategic plan.

In the Philadelphia suburbs, ACTS is planning $120 million in upgrades at its eight continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs) in Bucks, Delaware, and Montgomery counties. For example, at Granite Farms Estates (Media, Pa.), a $40 million renovation will include a new bistro café, fitness center, heated indoor pool, and larger independent living apartments.

Other renovations taking place at its communities include the addition of casual dining bistros, new fitness centers, more home-like healthcare centers, larger apartments with optional floor plans and upgraded interior furnishings, and single-family homes, which are designed to appeal to a younger generation of seniors.
