Abernethy Laurels in Newton, N.C., has started a $3.6 million capital campaign to build a new healthcare center.
It will fund construction of a new two-story healthcare facility, as well as complete demolition and rebuilding of the existing healthcare center.
The project will serve people needing rehabilitation and memory care services, and the new building will offer more private rooms and increase square footage for each resident.
The retirement community hopes to exceed their campaign goal by August.
